FORScan Warning: “Adapter Not Compatible” — Don’t Panic

If FORScan throws a compatibility warning when you first connect your adapter, don’t worry — this happens with most adapters, including ones that FORScan officially supports on their own website.

The warning is almost always about maximum data transfer speeds, not about whether your adapter can read modules or run service procedures. For everyday use — reading fault codes, checking live data, changing configuration settings — it makes no difference whatsoever.

The only scenario where transfer speed actually matters is module flashing (rewriting firmware). That’s a rare, advanced operation that most users never do.

How to know if your adapter is genuinely fine: If it connects to both HS-CAN and MS-CAN and reads all your vehicle’s modules, you’re good. Ignore the warning and carry on.
